I’ve been reflecting a lot on culture lately. Not just in the workplace but in the neighborhoods that I am working in. I work for EcoWorks which is located on Michigan Avenue in Southwest Detroit. There’s a different demographic makeup in that area–mostly Latinos (Mexican descent). Even the houses are designed differently and the artistic display of tall metal gates lines the sidewalks of each house. There’s a reason for that. That reason is culture.\u00a0In the workplace, there is a diverse group of people which really contributes to the culture of the organization. EcoWorks employees are understanding, open, and considerate and it helps that social justice and community is at the forefront of their work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
