So while being in this internship I have not had the opportunity to write much poetry. I always tell myself that I will but I get tired, have work to do or simply don’t feel like writing. In a bit of an ironic poem I wrote a poem about my mini break up with poetry.<\/p>\n

Breakups Are Tough…If you Care<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n We used to go on walks, I miss walks<\/p>\n The ones where the weather is just write<\/p>\n The write balance of wind and serenity<\/p>\n But lately I have been busy, I have to pencil you in<\/p>\n Remember when I would stay up until 5:00 AM with you<\/p>\n Remember when you held my hand<\/p>\n I’ll try to make some time for\u00a0us next week—<\/p>\n Well okay maybe the week after that<\/p>\n Dammit this is what I mean<\/p>\n I traded your love in for a younger, less grounded version<\/p>\n They said I would have time for you and Her<\/p>\n Poetry…I think we might be breaking up<\/p>\n I know its clich\u00e9 but its not you its me<\/p>\n See I just need to focus on me, myself and I<\/p>\n And they are not the best at sharing<\/p>\n I guess there is no good way to say<\/p>\n “Despite all the times you peeled my emptions off the sidewalk<\/p>\n I will use that same sidewalk to walk away from you”<\/p>\n Different approach, lets play the blame game<\/p>\n Its your fault<\/p>\n That’s a lie and\u00a0we both know it<\/p>\n I’ll just ignore your phone calls, text messages, email, random pop ups at my job<\/p>\n And finally,<\/p>\n I’ll shut off my heart when only the sound of my breath could rescue you from your self inflicted demise<\/p>\n I saw you on the news last night<\/p>\n “Poetry, forgotten on the side of an assembly line”<\/p>\n You must have been looking for me<\/p>\n I guess I was too early and you were too late<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" So while being in this internship I have not had the opportunity to write much poetry.
