We&#8217;ve talked about different methods of child raising (corporal punishment in particular), feminism, gender inequality, etc. To say the least, it was an insightful discussion. However, I can also see how cultural differences lead to conflicts if neither side understands each other. In response to a series of conversations, I wrote a poem regarding feminism.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some poems I listened to for inspiration, incase you&#8217;re interested:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cFTGJyuE-tA\">&#8220;Black Feminist&#8221;<\/a> by Jillian Christmas<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Z0F_6GMOa-8?t=3m35s\">&#8220;Ain&#8217;t I a Woman&#8221;<\/a> by Kai Davis<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">White feminism is the driver who honks as soon as the light turns green<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">It is the boy who snaps girl&#8217;s bra straps, pulls her hair and says, &#8220;It&#8217;s because I like you&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">White feminism is the teacher only calling on boy&#8217;s butt tells every parent with a daughter that she needs to participate<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">White hands cover colored mouths but closed mouths don&#8217;t get fed<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">For some, this isn&#8217;t a gender issue<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">This is a societal issue<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In America, there&#8217;s a reason why racial pronouns exist<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In America, there&#8217;s a reason why financial pronouns exist<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I am a Black woman<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: 300\">I am a Poor woman<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I am not just a woman<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My identities can&#8217;t be separated nor used as a token character<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I will not fill your diversity quota, be the only brown face in your march<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My Womanhood is multi-faceted like my oppression<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Gender is only one<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve observed a lot of cultural differences when conversing with our cohort.
