The author, Aaron Millar, informs his audience of travelers about the possibility of the revitalized Detroit. Okay, I know you’re probably thinking “Why is Shaylynn so annoyed by a travel article that is supposed to talk about all the new changes in such a cheesy way, the author was just doing their\u00a0job?” Well maybe that’s just how I’m feeling right now, but anyways the main reason why I don’t like this article is the lack of the back story.<\/p>\nIt annoys me because, although it is meant for potential visitors and not a political commentary, I feel like, especially for the traveling audience, they should know the history of Detroit. Why it was in “ashes” in the first place and who are the ones in Detroit that “nothing can stop”, a.k.a the actual residents and not the suburbanites who only come for special events. Also, how it’s being downplayed to a “fresher and more affordable” option compared to New York City and Chicago. Overall, just seeing the beginning of a possible blander,\u00a0gentrified, and censored Detroit is what is truly bugging me. Aaron Millar, you were just doing your\u00a0job, it’s not you, it’s this disgusting, capitalistic, white-washed bull (insert explicit here), that I detest.<\/p>\n
