With the shift of DCERP to a virtual platform, I was anxious and curious as to what my experience would be this summer. I was afraid that the new platform would not allow me to get close with anyone from the cohort. However, with the world seemingly ending at the same time, it was nice to hear and speak to my learning group. I liked being able to speak to the issues prevalent in the world, even when it didn’t align with our learning groups. As the summer went on and we began working on our group projects, I loved how my group delved into the issue of police brutality. Through our project, I learned so much more about the reform proposals suggested while also being able to discuss them with others interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All in all, while I entered anxious of the social aspect of DCERP, I was happy to be part of my learning group. However, I do hope that there is a chance to meet the rest of the cohort somehow in the fall!\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
