{"id":1654,"date":"2013-07-16T11:10:28","date_gmt":"2013-07-16T15:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uropcbrp.com\/?p=1654"},"modified":"2020-08-28T14:08:06","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T14:08:06","slug":"rollin-rollin-dhdc-post-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/courses.lsa.umich.edu\/dcerp\/2013\/07\/16\/rollin-rollin-dhdc-post-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Rollin&#8217;&#8230;Rollin&#8217;: DHDC Post 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/uropcbrp.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/spring-roll.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image alignleft\" id=\"i-1655\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"http:\/\/uropcbrp.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/spring-roll.jpg?w=144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000080\">I walked into work this past Friday to find\u00a0<strong>a surprise.<\/strong>\u00a0It turned out there was an event taking place that night that I had\u00a0<em>no idea about.<\/em>\u00a0I found out about it in my first staff meeting (that&#8217;s right getting official) as the person in charge of DHDC said &#8220;So as I&#8217;m sure you all know &#8230; is taking place tonight.&#8221; I sat there quietly pretending to know as well although the truth was that I felt\u00a0<strong>completely<\/strong>\u00a0out of the loop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000080\">However the event itself\u00a0<strong>was not\u00a0<\/strong>the surprise. During the meeting I found out the awful news that the caterer&#8217;s brother passed away. Because of this, the staff (the women staff)\u00a0became in charge of the cooking. I rolled spring rolls\u00a0<strong>FOR HOURS.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000080\">Cutting veggies and rolling spring rolls was not in my work plan but sometimes you just have to &#8220;<em>roll&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0with what life throws at you. It was a very fun experience because I got to talk with women in the office that I don&#8217;t usually work with.
