Last week I created two documents \u201cSuspicious Vehicle Guide\u201d and \u201cSuspicious Person Guide,\u201d to help residents better report suspicious activity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/uropcbrp.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/screen-shot-2013-07-16-at-1-45-16-pm.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image\" id=\"i-1674\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"http:\/\/uropcbrp.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/screen-shot-2013-07-16-at-1-45-16-pm.png?w=608\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now it might not look like much, but I am not what you call a creative person. I have no artistic inclination, so anything that comes out visually acceptable is a success in my book. I am now designing a Prezi to be used to educate residents about the Special Assessment District Ordinance. Even though I&#8217;m borrowing most of the content from a previous Powerpoint, the project might take all of this week because\u00a0Prezis are quite finicky.<\/p>\n<p>To be honest, I\u2019m a little disappointed not to be doing any real research. I chose this fellowship specifically to gain research skills, as I haven\u2019t had any real research experience in my three years of undergrad. But as we learned yesterday in seminar, design skills are really valued in some workplaces. I plan to work in the nonprofit world upon graduating, so this experience might come in handy.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: As I mentioned in my last post, I wasn&#8217;t sure that I could use the above photo. So I went ahead and found a different drawing through Creative Commons.
