20 Things I’m Thankful for in DCERP Thus Far (in no clear order):
1. Introductions and welcomes at Clark Park
2. Greenspace in the city
a. (including:) dorm courtyards for soccer and chit chat
b. basketball courts out and about
c. some cool, cool urban farms
d. bikeability
3. When people tell me a story (extra points for long-ago stories)
4. Being around summer sports programs; I love them
5. Love and care communicated through food and snacks
6. Detroit pride and identity
a. which, yes, varies
7. Showing off Clark Park to friends while I learn more and more about it myself
8. Listening to music in different places
9. Being close to home, friends, and family
10. The river
11. Learning from my cohort, who is very nice and introspective
12. Access to my own space every once in a while
13. Dogs in the dorms
14. Ice cream nearby
15. Learning about latino culture (and different cultures from different Spanish-speaking countries) and the Spanish language at work each day
16. Learning about the workplace
17. Spending time with people of all ages each day at work
18. Connections galore!!
19. Hearing about interesting projects and organizations from members of my cohort and at work
