Now that we only have like three weeks left, I’m starting to think about leaving my site, and it’s kinda sad. I feel like I’ve really gotten into my project and gotten to know my coworkers, so I’m definitely gonna have to come back and visit. I’ve started a couple of projects that have let me get more connected with the community. One is bringing flyers to local businesses to advertise for our initiatives including the farmers market and our home improvement program. The home improvement program is something I started recently where residents of hope village were able to get free repairs on their houses, and I had to go to each house and take pictures for this program. This let me see more of the neighborhood I was working in and meet some of the people that live there. I got to meet a lot of people and see a lot of the community I’m working in, and I really appreciate that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
