To my fellow interns, congratulations. We have triumphed the 10 week internship, had our perspectives and outlooks matured, and emerged sharper and more well-rounded individuals. Also, we were the coolest CBRF group ever. I don’t necessarily know enough of the past kids to make such a judgement, but I do know that we were the coolest ones.<\/p>\n
So pat yourselves on the back. Pat yourselves on the back not only for your contributions to the future outlook of the CBRF [we proved it could thrive in the D!!], but for your contributions to the challenging, rigorous nonprofit world. I am honored to be with such a noble group unafraid to confront the challenges Detroit faces, which cannot be said of most, and still see the positive side, the halo, of Detroit and it’s people. I’m impressed that many of you yesterday expressed strong interest or even a sense of duty to work with the communities of Detroit as a viable future plan.<\/p>\n
