There\u2019s no better place for townies and students to come together for live music than the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI. On Thursday, February 25th, 2022 concert-goers piled in to catch the night\u2019s headlining band, Post Eden, alongside University of Michigan student band opening acts, Tea & Sympathy and Cherry TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tea & Sympathy kicked off the show with infectious energy and tight melodies that showcased the band\u2019s strong musicianship. Lead vocalist Molly Schwall demonstrated her dynamic ability to shine across genres, performing songs in pop, R&B, rock, and soul with an impeccable range. Bassist Emelia Piane played the iconic baseline from Thundercat\u2019s \u201cThem Changes\u201d with passion and ease while guitarist Josh Moss captivated the crowd. The groove from drummer Casey Cheatham and melodies from trombonist Tommy Hudgman and keyboard player Liam Charron got the whole crowd dancing as Tea & Sympathy closed with a cover of CeeLo Green\u2019s \u201cF**k You\u201d \u2013 with guest back-up singers SMTD voice majors Abby Lysinger and Juliet Freedman.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cherry TV stole the audience\u2019s hearts from their first note of \u201cSunflower\u201d by Rex Orange County. Their indie-rock-alternative sound mirrored the likes of Hippo Campus or Bad Suns with a touch of pop. The vocal chops of lead singers Anna Agrawal and Kiran Mangrulkar were a highlight of the show and drummer Casey Cheatham, lead guitarist Max Xie, and rhythm guitarist Trevor Soranno played sharp and cohesively. The band added their own flare to hits such as, \u201cWish You Were Gay\u201d by Billie Eilish and \u201cStacy\u2019s Mom\u201d by Fountain\u2019s of Wayne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The headliner of the night, Post Eden, brought their self-described \u201cmusical fusion\u201d to the stage and did not disappoint. Nick Noteman shredded on lead guitar as lead vocalist and guitarist Pat Murray belted every song with his roaring, passionate voice. The sub-frequencies vibrating from bassist Abe Worth and drummer Alex Bowling shook the walls of the building until the very end of the set. The band\u2019s sound was quintessential rock with influences from metal and punk.
