Abstract

Suicide and overdose rates during the postpartum year have increased in the United States over the past decade. Although community based interventions are increasingly recommended for use during the perinatal period, particularly during pregnancy and birth, there is less known about use during the postpartum. To our knowledge, there has been no prior attempt to identify a baseline knowledge of community-based interventions for individuals with MMH conditions during the postpartum period. We used the scoping review methodology outlined by Arksey and O’Malley to evaluate current evidence regarding community-based interventions for individuals with behavioral health disorders during the postpartum year in the United States. The primary medline search was translated into CINAHL, Scopus, PsychInfo, and EMBASE, which resulted in 3786 articles, currently undergoing title and abstract review. Following full text review and synthesis, results will be disseminated.
