Abstract

Cyber attacks are a problem for business and becoming more frequent. It is recorded that there were more than 500 million attempted attacks in 2021. To find potential reasons and possible solutions to this problem, Professor Schipani is conducting research in this area. The main approach is to review literature, recent cyber attack news, and whether cybercriminals have been prosecuted. We then summarize, compare, and analyze this information. We found that some of the most serious problems are the lack of policy, the difficulty identifying who the criminals are, the international aspect of the attacks, and the length of time required to prosecute cases which have proceeded. The goal of this research is to appeal to the policy-makers and companies and offer some suggestions for reform.
