Abstract
Aging is a process that leads to diseases and health complications. It has been observed that some compounds and treatments in diets extend the healthy lifespans of mice; such are: Acarbose, Rapamycin, 17-a Estradiol and Canagliflozin. However, it is not clear if this drugs work through similar or differential intracellular mechanism leading to beneficial and lifespan extension in mice. The data presented here suggest that Canagliflozin a drug that extend lifespan in males but not females mice work to similar intracellular mechanism that Acarborse, Rapa and 17-a-Estradiol by altering the mTOR signaling pathway and possible reducing cap-dependent translation.
