Abstract

My project is looking into the recent changes in the grain industry in Mexico. Some background information on this topic includes the fact that Mexico and specifically corn are currently and will be heavily impacted by climate change. The project’s topic of research is about finding sustainable ways to increase yields of small farm holders. To answer this question we are looking at climate change impact as well as impacts on farming from the market and government policies. This seeks new knowledge and expands on existing knowledge because previous studies have only looked to find if farming patterns have changed, not the reasons why they changed. So for our project, we are using previous studies methodology to identify changes and experimenting with new methods.
