Abstract
The study was undertaken to investigate if there are gender based differences in letters of recommendations within the last application cycles of pulmonary critical care fellowship applicants. The letters are de-identified to remove the personal information; and the information is evaluated through computer programs. The result is accomplished by analyzing dictions describing the applicants to indicate the persuasiveness of the letters and examining the context in which differences occur in the letters. Then, the results would be compared based on previous work and the information from other medical centers in the United States.
