Abstract

Our project on Racial and Gender Differences in The Managerial Labor Market looks at what factors influence the decision to become a leader now that more women are entering the workplace, and seeing more people in the workplace is a step forward. Our project was to look at the data we had available, first filtering the data we needed from a very large database (which included the current position, company, education, race, and gender of these people), and then we began to analyze the data for homogeneity. Our project is still in the analysis stage and there are no particularly clear results. We also hope to understand more from the results we get about what exactly makes these people leaders. And from these factors, we will be able to know if there is still some discrimination in the workplace in the current situation. For example, in the past, there was a stereotype that women should stay at home instead of working, and that they should be responsible for housework and childcare at home, although now, after generations of hard work, more and more women are entering the workplace and more and more movement support women to not be discriminated against in the workplace. We also hope that the findings of our project will help people to think more about this issue and avoid unfair treatment at work because of gender or race.
