Abstract
Racism is still a prevalent issue to this day. Although society has been attempting to undo this way of thinking, it’s still an epidemic that hurts many groups of people and their ways of life. More specifically to what this project will analyze, racism tends to affect the health of people. To accomplish the goal of learning about the different ways racism can affect the health of individuals, this project will focus on analyzing past studies; an example being an article on the role of microaggressions on cortisol responses, collecting data to identify efforts and responsiveness of interventions, completing training on anti-racist practices, and creating monthly workgroup meetings. There are no results on the health effects that have been found at this time due to the fact that the project has just begun, but our project is hoping to find a direct correlation between encounters dealing with racism and the underlying health effects they can cause.
