Abstract
Many of the common health problems we see today are linked to genetic makeup, and as such, are extremely difficult to overcome. The idea of using certain drugs to better enhance certain genes that can combat against this disease are thus explored and analyzed in this study. One such cause of many of the problems we see is aging. Using experimental mice models, a certain gene was reduced. For this certain experiment, the GH growth gene, a gene that provides instructions for a growth protein2, was reduced. This was hypothesized to be directly related with growth, in general, leading to the idea that this may be a viable method to reduce the many aging related diseases. Certain proteins were found to be in higher concentrations, possibly concurring with longer life expectancies. Therefore, this study concluded that increased levels of GPLD1 concurs with higher life expectancies and improved cognition functions at older ages.
