Abstract
The research and finding through the historical letter written by the late Dr. Askren during the late 1920s. This research is important because it upholds the history of the relationship between professor Kelsey and Dr. Askren during this time period. Specifically, Professor Kelsey was interested in his search for Papyri in Egypt, and Dr. Askren actually was able to acquire some through some local dealers. Throughout professor Kelsey’s journey, he was able to meet a friend band they learned that the main supply of Paypri came from the ancient villages. I learned about the Ancient villages such that when Egypt was cut off from its normal supply of nitrates the locals begin substituting for an alternative and this village began to disappear. It was revealed that the diggers sold their finding to the local dealers and flipped it for a profit in larger towns like Cairo. I learned more about the Egyptian civilization through the finding from Professor Kelsey. I was also able to learn more about the papyri collection and how the market worked at this time. I also learned more about the relationship between Dr. Askren and Professor Kelsey and their friendships through the letters. I learned the amount and suppliers that would have to be involved in the papyri collection. This research is valuable because other researchers or people in academia who is interested in voyaging to a different location may be interested in conducting a similar market in Egypt in other countries. This is also important because it will also allow observers to mimic the same practices and beliefs that professor Kelsey and Dr Askren had when they began their collection
