Abstract
Veterans Affairs’ Whole Health is an approach to care that is focused on what matters to you instead of what is wrong with you. Whole Health looks beyond the physical factors and considers factors such as spiritual and psychological care and how they affect health. In that way, one can develop a health care plan that is more personalized. Background research for this project included literature reviews to understand the knowledge and perceptions related to different components of Whole Health. The literature materials were further analyzed and questions were formulated that related to specific areas of Whole Health. Personal Health Inventories (PHI) were analyzed to understand better its contribution to a more holistic care approach for veterans. The research team developed a survey that was distributed on Qualtrics. The survey was randomly distributed and the aim was to collect information on Whole Health and its relatability to the public. The data collected will be used to help shape future understanding of the perception and practice of medicine. Further, the utilization of Whole Health can help veterans in clinical settings and help the health care providers who help these veterans.
