Abstract
Despite the countless studies done in relation to women’s and gender studies and social psychology, there is not much evidence that brings women and men together. Most studies disregard social constructs in their reasonings for why they matter. This study intends to challenge one of the most commonly known judgments about how women hate or have no regard for casual sex, when in reality the enjoyment is mutual between men and women. This study includes data from 75 heterosexual males and 75 heterosexual females who are surveyed about a hypothetical sexual partner via their dating app with preset preferences. The survey asked participants about a casual sex offer and their orgasm anticipation with a potential match. An analysis of whether the anticipation of orgasm explains the gender differences in sexuality dispute [we hypothesize that orgasm anticipation clears the gender difference in casual sex acceptance]. The social benefit of this research is to challenge the social expectation and norms about sexuality that the public eye has about women and men in that we are more similar than we think when it comes to our desires and that there shouldn’t be any judgment placed on that.
