Abstract

In this project, I assembled balanced homodyne photodetectors for quantum information science applications. These detectors could be used in a variety of quantum photonics experiments. Refining upon previous methods, I developed a guide to aid in the future production of the detectors. These detectors will be integrated into quantum communication and sensing experiments to perform measurements beyond the classical limits. Specifically, quantum key distribution but possibly other experiments as well.
