Abstract
This project revolves around looking at the hierarchical structure of non profit organizations. We are trying to find the internal pressure points to management and employee communication. The results of this project will allow us to better understand how nonprofits function as well as how their firm organization may be effective. The way this research is being performed is through recorded interviews, cold emailing as well as in personal simulations. In the recorded interviews and cold emailing we asked non profit leaders how they treated their employees and the friction they had between them when they did not share the same vision. As for the in person simulations we run different versions of a car negotiation contract to see how different tactics may impact the outcome / success of the negotiation. Research conducted in the past has shown that even though non profit leaders bear a significantly higher responsibility they would often hold their employees to a higher degree of expectation (Kang, 2011). Although it’s reasonable for non profit leaders to expect effort in the work being done, if employees don’t particularly find their work meaningful they will commonly suffer from burnout
