Abstract
A child is killed every two weeks working on American farms and in the nations’ fields. Many others are injured, maimed, or crippled. Congresswoman Lucile Roybal-Allard – the first Chicana elected to the House of Representatives – is determined bring this grim reality to an end. The Last Fight tells the behind-the-scenes story of how she is bringing her understanding of politics, deal-making, community-organizing, and the media to pass landmark legislation that will end dangerous conditions for children in U.S. agriculture.
