Abstract
Glioblastoma (formerly know as Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)) is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer with 5%-10% surviving within few months of diagnosis. There is no definitive cause of glioblastoma nor does it have a consistent symptoms, which can include nausea to personality changes to unconsciousness. The main form of treatments include radiation or chemotherapy and the goal is to remove as much of the tumor without damaging the surrounding area. However, glioblastoma is surrounded by migrating cells and infiltrating cells make it difficult to do so, as a result, our lab is working on developing novel therapies for malignant brain tumors based on the depletion of cancer stem like cells.
