Abstract
Currently, there is not much research surrounding interoception, or sensing internal signals from your body. Processing internal signals is necessary for many key bodily processes such as hunger, when to use the restroom, and breathing. In the case of breathing, the brain receives information via neurons in the vagus nerves. This project focuses on characterizing the innervation of spatial respiratory regions.
