Abstract
The goal of the present work is to demonstrate how competitive environments encourage women (especially low-gender identified women) to internalize masculine behaviors and consequently, perpetuate the bias towards women and undermine efforts to foster collaboration within STEM contexts. This has been explored in a correlational capacity. But this hasn’t been investigated experimentally and with the highest degree of mundane realism.
