Abstract
The topic of this research project is collaboration. The main objective is to improve intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration, and to try to make these efforts easier and more accessible. We also hope to use our compilation of case studies to inform people about what techniques and practices they can employ in order to facilitate collaboration and creativity in a more efficient and engaging manner. We want to inform people about the benefits of these certain techniques and to provide them with as many resources and guidance as possible, so they can employ the techniques easily. We plan to do this through a compilation of case studies with helpful techniques, as well as through our ORBIT platform website, which we are currently in the process of updating. We are currently reading through case studies that we plan on compiling into a book. These case studies contain examples of creative and engaging techniques to foster strong collaboration as well as creative resilience, a large topic/theme of the book. We plan to begin conducting faculty interviews soon that will give us a better understanding of what people might be looking for from our platform and what improvements we should make. We will incorporate the feedback we receive from faculty and researchers into our beta platform updates. This research does not necessarily center around coming to conclusions. It is more about making decisions based on feedback from our target audience that would help us make improvements and come up with ideas/solutions that would in turn help them. Because the objective is to foster collaboration, we want to do necessary research that will help us decide what experience would be best for our audience. The feedback and information we gain will allow us to make informed decisions regarding platform/website design and function updates.
