Abstract

Potassium channels in cells are very important in the process of cardiac repolarization, and hERG encodes for these channels. Disfunction in the repolarization can result in arrythmia, and is especially prominent in long QT syndrome. The project attempts to assess how defects in cellular and molecular processes can cause long QT syndrome.
