Abstract

The emergence of Virtual Reality (VR) and its ever growing presence in mainstream context promise a plethora of applications in a variety of industries. Specifically, in academia, virtual reality may promise a more engaging approach to education. Applying virtual reality to the radiation safety concepts may endorse greater levels of retention and understanding for students, especially in a lab setting. Certain software frameworks, such as Unity and Blender, offer a platform for creating these virtual environments. As it stands, progress has been made on creating a tutorial environment for players to learn about some of the radiation physics. The current state of the game is in line with expectations and further development involves programming more comprehensive physics into the virtual reality environment.
