Abstract

Vaccination is an effective way to prevent the pandemic of infectious diseases. Vaccine Investigation and OnLine Information Network (VIOLIN), a web-based database system, stores manually annotated and analyzed vaccine data that support vaccine research. VIOLIN parasite vaccines UROP project aims to enrich parasite vaccine annotation in VIOLIN and to find the common features of parasite protective antigens through bioinformatic analysis. We annotated parasite vaccines that are experimentally supported to be protective in published literature and clinical trial websites, and analyzed protective antigens of parasite vaccines through functional annotation. This presentation will focus on annotations of Apicomplexa parasite protective antigens.
