Abstract

The positions and velocities of galaxies, as well as dark matter, can be reconstructed from observations of galaxy distributions in current astronomical surveys of galaxies. We assess the performances of an array of reconstruction algorithms in different survey setups. Specifically, we quantify and compare their performances as a function of galaxy abundance in the survey, of resolution of the reconstruction grid, and of the scale at which the galaxy density field is smoothed (prior to the reconstruction).
