Abstract

Quinoxalines were synthesized and evaluated as the electrolytes in aqueous flow batteries. The effect of substituent position and the electron-withdrawing group (EWG) power of the substituents on the quinoxaline ring was investigated. The flow batteries’ electrochemical properties were tested using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and constant current constant voltage (CCCV) techniques. The assembly and testing of the flow batteries will be discussed.
