Abstract
Influenza viruses are known to transmit through airborne particles in indoor environments, posing significant public health risks. This project aims to assess environmental transmission pathways of influenza viruses by examining factors that influence airborne viral persistence and spread. In our study, we utilize environmental sampling techniques to collect airborne particles under controlled conditions designed to mimic indoor spaces. Viral RNA from collected samples is extracted and analyzed to detect the presence of influenza viruses and quantify viral concentrations. Through this approach, we aim to better understand the conditions that facilitate transmission and inform strategies to reduce infection risks in indoor environments. This work contributes to the growing understanding of airborne viral dynamics and provides insight into environmental factors that influence influenza virus transmission.
