Abstract
The Reckoning Project was created to help battle and bring to light the injustices acted upon individuals by people of power, law enforcement, judges, or prosecutors. The project aims to find misconduct and hold those who have done harm to others accountable for their actions, and aim to lead to more individuals being exonerated due to this misconduct. Through research and data scraping across multiple established sources such as news articles, and public databases, a pattern can be attained of certain individuals who have repeatedly committed misconduct, and an estimation for the total amount of misconduct that is happening around the country. The data results collected from the multiple online and in person sources will hopefully conclude in the exoneration in many of those who were victims of misconduct. Nationwide data has not been completely collected, nor has information been sent out to state, county, and local town offices yet. It is hoped that the project shows patterns of individuals who have partaken in misconduct to estimate where other misconduct could take place. That it brings to light the actions taken by many people of power and ensures these individuals can never cause harm again through the means of lawful justice, and creates an environment where no one feels like they are above the law in any way shape or form.
