Abstract
Sleep is a critical physiological process regulated by genetic and neural mechanisms, yet many aspects of its regulation remain unclear. In this study, we aim to investigate the role of sleep-sensitive genes in GABAergic sleep neurons using Drosophila as a model. We will collect virgin females expressing Gal4 in VGAT neurons and cross them with males carrying UAS-RNAi constructs, resulting in progeny with targeted gene knockdown. By knocking down individual genes, we will assess their impact on sleep duration, quality, and patterns over several days.
