Abstract
The goal of this study is to define the most effective strategies for identifying and engaging target markets for products designed to help musicians and individuals improve perofrmnce through breathing techniques. This will help implement these techniques in My Breathing Buddy, the current product being launched to market. The largest source of research will be articles, and a survey asking the general population what the most effective techniques they think are. Combining these two methods will allow for a complementary approach to define the best strategy moving forward, and allow us to consider the input of the population and the research that has been done previously. As a result of this research, we will be able to implement these strategies with a startup firsthand, and attempt them in market to further tweak and change our approach to the market. The larger implications of our findings can be applied to a general company. This research is intended to be able to be applied to any company or field, and help them identify their own target market and audience to figure out the best approach to growing their own business. This research will be specific enough to make a true difference to help a company identify a market but general enough to apply to a multitude of companies.
