Abstract
Nurse health coaching is a new practice with relatively limited research within the perinatal and pediatric fields. This systematic review sought to answer the question: “What is the effectiveness of nurse health coaching when in pediatric and perinatal populations?†The review focused on determining the health and behavioral outcomes of the patients as well as the overall impact of health coaching on these populations. The literature review used CINAHL Complete (EBSCO), Embase.com, Scopus.com, PubMed.gov, PsycINFO (EBSCO), and Web of Science. Using Covidence, 225 perinatal and 287 pediatric studies from 1994 to July 2024 were screened for health coaching, removing studies that focused on non-nurse health coaches, nurses engaged in job coaching for staff development, nursing education research, and nursing students. The intended results will determine strategies for nurse health coaching, which affects client health and behavioral outcomes in perinatal and pediatric fields.
