Abstract
In the field of nurse health coaching, there is limited research related to nurse health coaching across the lifespan. The purpose of this scoping review is to describe strategies used in nurse health coaching across the human lifespan. We seek to explore areas relating to the the impact of health coaching practices, including health outcomes achieved, and specific strategies used by nurse health coaches. The scoping review was conducted in Covidence with articles from 1994 to the July 2024 obtained from PubMed, CINAHL, PsychInfo, and other databases. Registered and advanced practice nurses employing nurse health coaching strategies in practice were included. Upon completion of the review, approximately 9,000 articles will be assessed for inclusion, expanding the knowledge of nurse health coaching strategies beyond what is defined currently. Overall, the findings will result in evidence-based guidelines to better inform nurse health coaching practice and thus improved patient care.
