Abstract
Whole Health is the idea that a person’s health is heavily influenced by eight categories: Moving the Body, Surroundings, Personal Development, Food & Drink, Recharge, Family, Friends, & Coworkers, Spirit & Soul, and Power of the Mind. These eight categories of Whole Health can be used as an integrative to treat conditions in a way that addresses ailments at the root, rather than treating them with the typical prescribed medication. In this study, the effect of gender on the Family, Friends, and Relationship category will be analyzed. Although more and more research about the way society treats different genders is being done, there is minimal data on how the societal systems and one’s interpersonal relationships intersect. We have created a survey that addresses all eight categories that has been completed by 217 respondents, 69% of whom identify as females. There are eight questions in the Family, Friends, and Relationships category. Each of these will be taken into account in qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis in order to understand if gender influences one’s perception of their family, friends, or other relationships. After analysis I will create an implementation project to raise awareness of the influence of gender on one’s relationships.
