In order to prepare me, Professor Cotera had me read Mexicans in Wisconsin by Sergio M. Gonz\u00e1lez. The purpose of the reading was to provde me with some context of the history of los primeros\/the first Mexicans who migrated to Wisconsin to the present day.<\/p>\n<p>This book was insightful because this was the first time I learned about the diverse journeys of Mexicans in the Midwest. Also, it was important for me to understand how Mexicans in Wisconsin excludes how impactful the work of Chicana feminism was during the 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s.
