{"id":2407,"date":"2018-07-15T01:25:09","date_gmt":"2018-07-15T01:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wagsfp.urop.lsa.umich.edu\/?p=2407"},"modified":"2020-08-28T14:10:56","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T14:10:56","slug":"programming-reflection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/courses.lsa.umich.edu\/wagsfp\/2018\/07\/15\/programming-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Programming Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I feel that I have benefitted from the programming associated with WAGSFP.\u00a0 I think that the seminars have been a helpful complement to the research experiences we&#8217;re having.\u00a0 For future WAGSFP cohorts, I think some of the sessions could be somewhat more advanced and less general. The Brown Bag session I attended was interesting because it exposed me to an area of research I would not have likely been exposed to. I do think, however, that there could be more diversity in the topics of the Brown Bag sessions. They seem to be pretty concentrated in the hard sciences.<\/p>\n<p>As for my experiences with other fellows, this has been the best part of the program for me. It has been really great to meet such smart and interesting people! I&#8217;ve loved getting to know people and both their personal and academic interests. I can say the same for my experience with my research mentor. She has been very helpful in helping me develop my research skills, as well as being a person I would feel comfortable going to for guidance about academic and career plans.
