Abstract

The Speak To Your Health (STYH) community survey has been created to gather health data on the people of Genesee County, Michigan. The STYH team launched this research project in order to use the gathered health data and display it in a simple, informative, and visually appealing way so that even people with low data literacy will be able to navigate and understand the findings of the survey. While specifically focusing on how to display data in the STYH survey, this project hopes to advance knowledge in the field of data analysis and UI design in general. Our project team created a website using Wix to display our data. Trial and error is the main method used to work on the project. The team had to constantly manipulate, add, and receive feedback on the data analysis and design of the website in order to create a successful finished product. The final product is a well-running and visually appealing website that many people in the community will search for and learn something from. We hope that this project can lead to future interest in health and this dissemination process to reach people in the community as well as health officials so that health policy changes will be made in the future.
