Abstract
In recent years, problems with greenhouse gas emissions have grown in importance in our world. One of the main sources of emissions is fuel emission produced by vehicles. To overcome this issue, scientists and engineers have developed new energy vehicles (NEV; hybrid and pure electric vehicles) that are much less polluting. Hybrid vehicles can run on both fuel and electric, while pure electric vehicles only use electricity. NEVs were newly developed and are having a huge impact in our society today, with China being one of the most impactful countries in the NEV industry, we’re interested in how NEVs were promoted by the Chinese government. My project focuses on studying how the Chinese government policies impact the NEV industry. In my research, I will start from the basics of the NEV industry and continue on analyzing some of the policies implemented by the Chinese government to support the development of NEV in China. Also, I will look into the sales data of NEV and try to draw conclusions that might be supported by the examined Chinese policies.
