Abstract

As part of the research conducted in the Tensor-based Methods in Data Science project, machine learning methods with potential applications to medical research are explored with focus on image data. This involves using mathematical concepts such as linear algebra and reshaping images that can be processed using tensor software packages for further use. In this poster, a MATLAB program will be presented that aims to classify object images. Classification is performed on images directly or on their reduced forms upon applying Principal Component Analysis (PCA).
