Abstract

Planarians are known as immortal animals with extremely long lifespan. However, they reach reproductive senescence between 12 and 24 months after birth (Dai et al. biorxiv, 2023). The project focuses on the number of oocytes produced across various strains of planarians at different ages. It investigates whether there is a relationship between the age of the planarians and the number of oocytes produced.
