Abstract
To increase the University of Michigan’s sustainability, Michigan Dining is looking into ways to reduce palm oil consumption. This is because the production of palm oil results in the deforestation of critical environments, such as orangutan habitat, along with human rights abuses. To reduce palm oil, we either replace one product with another one, reduce the use of it, or eliminate it entirely from our menu without replacement.
