Abstract
Ever since the invention of the cell phone, there has been an uprise in digital interactions. With that, people have chosen to prefer interacting with their fellow human beings online as opposed to offline, especially people belonging to the Gen Z group. This study dives into analyzing how human behavior can change when people replace physical interactions with digital ones. This is done through a mixed method approach of conducting a meta analysis on the literature and data found via the internet that discusses more specifics in full. After conducting an extensive analysis of the literature and data compiled, the meta analysis showed that Gen Z individuals who have a higher average screen time tend to have more mental health issues, shortened attention spans, a lack of creativity, and poor social skills. Such findings serve to show that at the rate the world is going, more people, whether they’re Gen Z or not, will develop addictions to these digital interactions, or worse, already have an addiction to it and are either in denial about it or are oblivious to it.
