Abstract
Whole Health is a holistic way to approach traditional medical practices. The system of Whole Health focuses on eight different sections of your life and is centered around the patient and the goals you want to accomplish. The eight sections of Whole Health are: Spirit and Soul, Moving the Body, Surroundings, Personal Development, Food & Drink, Recharge, Power of the Mind and Family, Friends & Co-workers. Though previous studies of Whole Health have been conducted and have shown benefits, there is still a need for further research because of gaps linking areas such as the effectiveness of physical exercise in helping with mental health. This study began with the research team combining their individual research questions into a unified survey created using Qualtrics. The survey was distributed to approximately 200 participants varying in age, gender, and other demographic factors. The survey results are pending but the study aims to gather both quantitative and qualitative insights related to participants’ experiences with Whole Health. Quantitative analysis will be conducted using R Studio, employing statistical tests such as the chi-squared test to identify trends and associations within the data. Meanwhile the qualitative responses will be analyzed by the research team to identify themes and patterns related to the participants’ open-ended answers. Although the data is still being cleaned and analyzed, this project acknowledges limitations, including the accuracy and quality of survey responses, which may affect the reliability of the findings. This project’s ultimate goal is to use the insights gained by the survey to design an implementation project that addresses the identified needs and perspectives surrounding Whole Health. The final results will be presented on a poster board at a university symposium, showcasing both the research findings and potential practical applications. Though further research is needed, this project aimed to understand participants’ experiences with Whole Health.
